One never has to try too hard

I found this fascinating picture on the net today. Still going through vintage adverts and posters. fascinating and amusing.
It was so in your face those days yet it has some clever way of doing it. Now some of the adverts try so hard, I wonder what are they trying to sell- the product or the poster. Abstract seems to be the fashion.
On the same thoughts, I was wondering if I appear to be trying too hard or do I just make no sense? I spoke to a long time friend today and although he appears to be enjoying life, he doesn't seem contended. Do I know what I want yet?
